Dr. Çelik said, “Among the clinical signs of adenoid enlargement, snoring, inability to breathe easily, sleep apnea, postnasal drip, and fluid accumulation in the ears. As physicians, we suspect adenoid enlargement and perform the necessary examinations when fluid accumulation in the ears is seen in children. The diagnosis of nasal flesh growth is made by otolaryngologists. The diagnosis is made by careful examination of the child brought to an otolaryngologist due to the above mentioned complaints and by endoscopic visualization of the anatomical region behind the nose, which we call the nasopharynx, ”he said.

Dr. Çelik said, “After the nasal flesh is seen endoscopically, the physician’s job is to decide whether it is large enough for surgery. We decide whether the area we call choana (the nasopharynx transition area) is obstructed and whether the nasal passages are operated in accordance with the child’s clinic. Adenoidectomy in children is the removal of large adenoids that will affect the quality of life of the child, ”he said.
